MESL Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and MESL ("we") about the MESL service (the "service"). They apply to the MESL website and the official apps on every platform. By signing up for, buying or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 to use the service. If your country or region sets a higher age, or you are a minor, you need a parent's or guardian's consent.
- Sign up with an email address you can receive mail at. Keep your password, two-factor authentication and passkeys safe. Signing in on a new device may require verification, such as an email code.
- Your subscription link works as your connection credential. Do not give it to others; if you think it has leaked, reset it in your account settings on the website. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Personal plans are for you and the members of your household. Team plans are for team members as described on the plan page. You may not resell or rent out accounts or subscription links, or share them publicly.
The service and plans
- We provide a network service and apps for each platform. Each plan includes a data allowance and a limit on devices online at the same time; some plans also have a speed limit. See the plan page for details.
- Devices are counted by distinct public IP addresses online at the same time, so several devices on one network may count as one; extra devices may not be able to connect. Both upload and download count toward your data, and servers marked with a multiplier count data at that multiplier.
- Plans are sold by month, quarter, half-year, year and other periods, counted in calendar months. Data usually resets each month on your billing day (the same day of the month as your expiry date); the plan description shows the exact rule. At reset, used data goes back to zero and unused data does not carry over. One-time data plans have no expiry date and do not reset.
- If you renew the same plan before it expires, the new period is added after your current expiry date and data used this cycle is not reset. To get data back right away, buy a data reset, or start the next data cycle early when the page offers it; starting early resets used data, moves your expiry date earlier by the same amount and cannot be undone.
- When your plan expires or this cycle's data runs out, the service pauses automatically; your account and balance are kept. Buying after expiry counts as a new purchase, with the period and data starting at the time of purchase. Some plans may be discontinued, limited in number or not renewable.
- Buying a different plan changes your plan: the new plan starts immediately, with its period and data counted from the change. The remaining value of your current plan, based on its remaining data and remaining periods, is credited against the new plan's price; any excess goes to your account balance, not back to your payment method. Time bought through the App Store is not credited.
- To prevent misuse, your subscription link is closed by default and must be opened temporarily on the website before you import or update it; the official apps handle this after you sign in. Resetting the subscription link makes the old link and old connection credentials stop working at once.
- We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or usable on every network. We may suspend parts of the service for maintenance, security or legal reasons, and we may change servers, features and plans; we give advance notice of changes that significantly disadvantage a plan you have already bought.
Payment, balance and referral commissions
- Prices and the currency on the website are those shown at checkout. Payments are handled by third-party payment providers, and some payment methods may charge a fee.
- You can have only one unpaid order at a time. Your account balance is applied automatically when you place an order; unpaid orders are cancelled automatically after a while and any balance applied is returned.
- Auto-renewal from balance is off by default; whether to use it is your choice, and you can turn it on or off at any time in your account settings on the website. When it is on, within two days before your plan expires we renew the current plan from your account balance, for the same period as your most recent purchase. If your balance is too low, or the plan is discontinued or cannot be renewed, nothing is charged and the setting turns itself off.
- Your account balance can be used only for purchases in the service and cannot be withdrawn. Each gift card can be used once per account.
- When people who signed up through your invitation link pay, you may earn referral commissions under the rules on the referral page. Commissions can be moved to your account balance (this cannot be undone) or, once they reach the minimum amount, withdrawn through a support ticket using the methods shown on the page. We cancel commissions obtained improperly, for example by inviting yourself or through fake orders.
App Store subscriptions
Subscriptions bought in the app on iPhone, iPad or Apple TV are charged by Apple and renew automatically under App Store rules unless you cancel in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple handles cancellations and refunds; if Apple refunds a period, the unused time is removed. Each App Store subscription can be linked to one account only. In-app purchases do not use your balance or coupons and do not earn referral commissions. Changing plans on the website does not stop Apple's automatic renewal, and when Apple renews, the plan for that subscription is restored. Apps downloaded from the App Store are also subject to Apple's standard end user license agreement.
Refunds
- Plans bought on the website are digital services that start as soon as you buy them. We generally do not give refunds for personal reasons, such as not knowing how to use the service or your network not being suitable; we suggest trying a short plan first.
- If the service is unavailable for an extended period because of us, we compensate with extra time or give a refund, depending on the case. When you change plans, any excess value goes to your account balance.
- If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from a website order within 14 days of buying it; if you asked us to start the service during that period, the part already provided is deducted in proportion.
- Refunds for App Store purchases follow Apple's rules. Where the law provides otherwise, the law applies.
Acceptable use
When you use the service, you must not:
- engage in illegal activity or distribute illegal content, including child sexual exploitation material and content promoting violent extremism;
- commit fraud or phishing, or misuse other people's accounts or payment details;
- send spam or bulk marketing email;
- attack networks or systems, including port scanning, denial-of-service attacks, brute-force attacks, credential stuffing, spreading malware or running botnets;
- probe, attack or gain unauthorized access to our website, apps or servers;
- download or seed with BitTorrent or other peer-to-peer protocols;
- scrape data at high frequency for long periods in a way that affects other users;
- infringe copyright or other rights of others;
- resell, rent out or publicly share accounts or subscription links;
- insult or harass our staff in tickets or other support conversations.
Enforcement
We find violations through automated checks and human review, including investigating complaints. Depending on the case, we may reset your subscription link and connection credentials, restrict features, or suspend or close your account. Account sharing, credential stuffing, unauthorized access and similar activity are handled automatically; in serious cases an account may be closed without advance notice. Accounts closed for serious violations are not refunded for unused time, except where the law requires otherwise. If you think an action was a mistake, email us to ask for a human review.
Privacy and records
How we collect and use your data is described in our Privacy Policy. To keep the service secure, troubleshoot problems and handle abuse, we keep the necessary records, including user access logs, and we rely on them when handling violations and complaints.
Apps and third-party services
We grant you a licence to use the official apps for personal purposes. Except as the law allows, you may not decompile the apps, distribute modified versions or use them for illegal purposes. Open-source components in the apps are provided under their own licences, and these terms do not limit the rights those licences give you. The service relies on third-party services (such as payment, sign-in and the App Store), which are provided under their own terms. If you use a third-party client, you take the compatibility and security risks yourself.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited is not affected.
You are responsible for complying with the laws where you are and for how you use the service. You must not use the service in violation of applicable export control or sanctions laws. You will compensate us for losses caused by your breach of these terms or the law.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time or delete your account in the app or on the website; after deletion, unused plan time, balance and commissions are forfeited and the account cannot be restored. App Store subscriptions must also be cancelled in your Apple Account. If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account. If we stop providing the service entirely, we will give advance notice and handle unused time as the law requires.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. For material changes we notify you by email or a notice on the website at least 7 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the changed terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the law where you live are not affected. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
General
These terms are available in Chinese and English; if they differ, the Chinese version prevails. If any provision is invalid, the rest remain in effect. Our not exercising a right does not waive it.
